Okinawa Local Restaurant

I visited Okinawa, Japan between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 with my family and my mother in law and my brother in law. The last day of 2019 we went to an Okinawa local restaurant named “Mikado.” I am going to report our experience at the restaurant.

We were looking for a restaurant we could have Okinawa local food. We were staying in a hotel located between Asahibashi Station and Kencho-mae Station of Yui-Rail. We could find some candidate restaurants on the Internet and one of them is near from our hotel.

The restaurant “Mikado” is located near from Kencho-mae Station of Yui-Rail. It takes within 10 minutes from the station on foot.

The front of the Restaurant

There were many menus and most menus cost 600 Japanese Yen threw 900 Japanese Yen. They are very honest. I ordered “Okinawa-Soba,” Okinawa style ramen and my wife ordered “Champon,” stir-fried vegetables with soft-scrambled eggs rice bowl.

Okinawa-soba(Okinawa Style Ramen)

The taste of Okinawa-soba was gentle and not too strong. Some Okinawa-soba restaurant serve strong taste Okinawa-soba. Flat noodles were dipped to bonito flavor soup so it was refreshing taste.

Champon( Stir-fried Vegetables with Soft-scrambled Eggs Rice Bowl)

I did not try to eat Champon so it is very difficult to explain the taste of it. It looked like deep-fried pork fillet rice bowl “Katsudon.” My wife says the taste of it is familiar.

I had just one dish this time so I want to try another dish next time if I have opportunities to visit Okinawa. We can experience mood of Okinawa local restaurants and taste of Okinawa there. If you are looking for a place to eat Okinawa local food, I recommend you visit there.
